Friday, 28 October 2022 SDIT Yaa Bunayya carries out edutrip at the Museum of Biology UGM. The group consists of 50 students and 6 teachers. Not only aimed at the learning on how to analyze relationship between the form as well as function of animal body parts and plants, the edutrip is expected to foster the sense of loving the environment. The students receive material supplies and then go on a tour to observe the museum collections while taking notes on important information they need. When observing collections of preserved animals and plants, they also make microscopic observations of plant tissues. The edutrip activity is an outdoor learning method for students which is based on the independent learning curriculum.

This year, the ticket price rises from Rp. 5,000.00 to Rp. 7,000.00 for students, and from Rp. 7,000.00 to Rp. 10,000.00 for public. On February 15 2023, the Museum of Biology, Faculty of Biology UGM begins to implement QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) payment system for purchasing tickets, foods and beverages, and souvenirs. QRIS is a payment system in the form of a QR code which is usually printed on the spot when visitors make transactions. It has been integrated with various existing m-banking and digital wallets.
Using this system, it is easier for visitors to make payments without having to use cash because the system only requires one QR Code. Rather than only facilitating transactions, the application of this super program can also be beneficial to prevent fraud, facilitate monitoring, and ensure transaction security. However, conventional payments using cash are still available to facilitate any form of payment flexibly.
The Museum of Biology presents new exhibition program of microscopy observations which is by using new microscopes. The exhibition program begins in early March 2023 with the purpose to introduce laboratory instruments such as light microscopes and its accessories (OptiLab) to visitors. Through this program, it is expected that the exhibition will enrich visitors with new insights and knowledge.\
This exhibition focuses on microscope observations to observe various parts of plant and animal anatomy. Under the guidance of the museum staffs, visitors can also have their first-hand experience on how to operate light microscopes. This will enable visitors to have learning by doing experience in addition to learning by listening to explanations given by the museum staffs.
SMAN 9 Yogyakarta conducts a two-days social working activity on 10 to 11 April 2023 at the Museum of Biology UGM. This activity involves five students of class XI MIPA 6. They are Alexandra Elana Katja Nindiadhi, Azra Zahida Aryawijayanti, Madah Sulam Cahya, Mutia Afinda Fadilah, and Sekar Ayu Fahriyah. On the first day, Ida Suryani as the museum staff provides the students with a brief description about museum collections and conservation materials. Next, students help to clean the collections of preserved dried plants such as sea pandanus fruit, siwalan fruit, rattan herbarium and many more. On the following day, students help to clean the collection displays on the cupboards and shelves in 10 showrooms. It is hoped that social working programs can provide the students with experience and enhancement of knowledge about biology. In the future, more collaborations between the museum and other schools to conduct social working program activities are welcomed.
